In an exchange with the Rockets that also involves Victor Oladipo and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, the Thunder receives two future second-round picks. The Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder have finalized their trade of Kevin Porter Jr. and two second-round draft selections. The deal was reached on Tuesday. Porter’s NBA career is in jeopardy due to major legal troubles, according to the Thunder, who said in a statement that he “will be waived immediately.” Victor Oladipo and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl were both sent to Houston by Oklahoma City.

Rockets receive:

  • Victor Oladipo
    Jeremiah Robinson Pearl

Thunder receive:

  • Kevin Porter Jr.
    Two future second-round picks

In addition to an additional $1 million that was guaranteed for the following season, Porter is owed approximately $15.9 million for this one. Porter had already been informed by the Rockets that, as a result of his arrest on domestic violence-related charges last month, he was virtually banned from the team. On September 11, Porter was detained following an alleged attack on his girlfriend, former WNBA star Kysre Gondrezick, in a hotel room in New York City. According to the New York Post, Porter still faces charges of strangling and another assault in connection with that alleged event; he has pled not guilty to both. One assault case against Porter was dismissed last week due to a lack of evidence.

Earlier this month, Rockets general manager Rafael Stone said, “The allegations against him are highly concerning. Going back a few weeks, I told his representation that he couldn’t play for the Houston Rockets as soon as I learned about the claims.
