Does Baseball Come from Cricket?

Yes, it’s believed that baseball came from older games where you hit a ball with a bat and run between bases. One of these games, called rounders, is a lot like baseball and was brought to the United States by English settlers.

In the early 1800s, Americans started changing rounders by adding new rules like the strike zone and foul balls. These changes eventually turned into what we know as baseball today.

While baseball and cricket have things in common, they also have big differences. Cricket games can last for many days, and they don’t have a set number of innings. Sometimes, cricket games even end in a draw.

Even with their differences, baseball and cricket are both loved sports with long histories. They show how people’s creativity and imagination can make fun and exciting games.
