Tennis has been in the Olympic Games for a very long time, since 1896 in Athens. At first, only men played, but they added women’s singles and doubles in 1900. Mixed doubles were there too but only returned in 2012.

Famous tennis players like Steffi Graf, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Andre Agassi, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic have won gold medals at the Olympics.

Some people wonder if tennis should stay in the Olympics. They think it’s too professional and that the best players don’t always want to play in the Olympics. But the International Tennis Federation (ITF) says tennis is important for the Olympics.

Tennis is a sport that many people love around the world. The Olympics are a special chance for tennis to reach more fans and inspire new players. So, it’s likely that tennis will stay in the Olympics for a long time.
