The International Kabaddi Federation (IKF) hosts the Kabaddi World Cup, an indoor international Kabaddi competition where both men’s and women’s national teams compete. Earlier iterations of the competition took place in 2004, 2007, and 2016. In each of the three competitions, India has won. In 2012, India hosted the first-ever women’s Kabaddi World Cup. The current format of the competition is a round-robin group stage with five teams split into two pools, with the victorious teams moving on to the semifinals.
In the championship game of the second Kabaddi World Cup in 2007, India defeated Iran. From April 3 to April 12, 2010, the Punjabi government hosted the Circle Style 2010 Kabaddi World Cup. After defeating Pakistan in the championship game on April 12, 2010, the Indian team was declared the winner. The tournament’s opening game and closing ceremony were held in Patiala and Ludhiana, respectively. India defeated opponent Pakistan in the first Circle Style Kabaddi World Cup, winning 58-24. At Guru Nanak Stadium, the 10-day tournament’s championship game was played.
