Turkey Recipe That’s Sure To Impress Your Guests

Here’s a simplified and flavorful Thanksgiving turkey recipe that’s sure to impress your guests:

  • 1 (10-12 pound) turkey, thawed
  • 1 large onion, quartered
  • 2 lemons, quartered
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons dried sage
  • 2 tablespoons dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. Pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
  3. In a small bowl, combine softened butter, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  4. Rub the herb butter all over the turkey, including under the skin.
  5. Stuff the turkey cavity with onion and lemon wedges.
  6. Place the turkey breast-side up in a roasting pan.
  7. Roast for 2-2 1/2 hours, or until the internal temperature of the thickest part of the thigh reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. Remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.

  • For extra crispy skin, baste the turkey with its own juices every 30 minutes during roasting.
  • If the turkey starts to brown too quickly, loosely cover it with aluminum foil.
  • To ensure even cooking, use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the turkey in multiple places.
  • Let the turkey rest before carving to allow the juices to redistribute, resulting in a more tender and flavorful bird.

Enjoy your succulent and easy-to-prepare Thanksgiving turkey!
